Happy 2024! Happy New Year! Before you know it, it's already 2024. God, I feel so old. And in the past few days, I've been hearing people talking about, you know, New Year's resolutions, hashtag, New Year, new me, you know, the same old, same old. And some people are saying that they are so fed up with things like this because if you think about it,

It's just another day. It's just another year. It's just a number. And what's more important is to be able to seize every day, to enjoy every day, to live in the moment, to enjoy the present.

To be honest, I totally get it because personally I'm such a live in a moment, soak up the present, hardworking kind of person, type of person. So I'm definitely not a dreamer or talker by any means. I'm definitely 100% a doer. So I'm all for that. But at the same time, I would like to embrace a bit of a sense of ritual, so to speak.

to have the chance, to welcome the chance to reflect and hit that restart button, if you know what I mean. Don't take me wrong, I do agree that life is so short, life is so fast-paced and time really flies, so it is so crucial for us to savor and enjoy every moment, to make every second count

But yet there's something about New Year, about that transition from one year to another that is still very special to me and to many, many people. It's about giving yourself the opportunity, the chance to reflect, to look back and have the opportunity to

to wipe the slate clean and to start over. Just like I said, to hit that restart button. And in terms of those New Year's resolutions that people make and some other people are sick of,

If you think about it, they're actually quite cute. They are like little, those cute little promises that people make to themselves or the little pep talk people give to themselves. It's a way for people to learn from the past and look into the future, hopefully a brighter and better future so that they know how to steer their ships towards a better direction.

So yeah, what's wrong with being a little bit naive, a little bit innocent and maybe overly optimistic? Because that's cute. And if you think about it, celebrating the start of a new year is kind of like a universal thing. That's a global thing that people do. No matter what country, region or culture that you're from, yeah, people

they go together, they come together and they enjoy food and they clink their wine glasses together, they exchange gifts and they set off fireworks.

They celebrate. It's like a big, big party that people enjoy. It's like this big universal celebration, this big party that we are enjoying together. And rituals like this really bring people together, connect people together. It reminds us that we are all in this big ride together. Yes, we are beautiful, we are unique, we are individuals,

But at the same time, we are all in this. We are united. We are all part of this. So yeah, as we dive into the new year, hopefully smoothly, let's

Enjoy them now. Let's celebrate them now and also have a little bit fun with our traditions and don't be so harsh, so picky, so bitter towards other people. Let them have their fun and yeah, I wish you a happy, happy new year. A new year that is filled with joy, personal growth and making each moment count. Yeah, cheers to that!
