What's up guys, it's Sam and Taylor. And we want you to put your shoes on. Pop open that energy drink. And go. What is up guys, I am Sam. And I'm Taylor, welcome back to the F Word Podcast. Of course, yes. We are filming this a week in advance because we are right now in LA enjoying our time there. But we're obviously getting some good content for you guys. But going into this episode this week, it is the day before we go to LA and my dumb ass self...

Thought it would be a good idea to put my full hand into a blender. Yay, go Sam. Good job. Yeah. So it was around like two o'clock and I was cleaning the blender from the inside. Like there was like this little smudge of like food that the dishwasher couldn't get out. And I took the napkin and I had my hand on the napkin and I was trying to scrub at it. And I don't know what happened, but it just, I blacked out. I just remember pulling my hand out.

Blood everywhere. I was alone. So I FaceTimed Taylor and I was like, I was like crying because I didn't know. One thing that I do is when I have pain, no matter where the pain is, how drastic it is, even if it's a small little thing of blood, I don't look. Because if I look and I'm already in a panic and it's worse than I already thought it was, then things get worse for me mentally. So I couldn't look. FaceTimed Taylor. She didn't answer. FaceTimed her again. And she answered. I was like crying. I was like...

What did I even say to you? I split my hand open or something? You were like, I cut my hand open. Yeah, I think you said you split your hand open. And I was like, I was coming up from like doing some things. So I was like on my way up to the apartment, like literally walking in was in the building. And I get a FaceTime and we had to record this podcast, this interview with Caitlin. And it was like 10 minutes. So I thought she was calling me to be like, why are you like we have a podcast. So I just hung up because I was like, I'm going to walk in the door like literally in a second. Yeah.

And then she called again. And I was like, okay. And then she's literally in tears. I literally didn't even know what to expect. I was like, did literally someone die? And then she just said that. And I was like, oh, God. So I was like, work comes first. I was like, hope you're okay. But also I'm going to have to call Caitlin and be like,

Yeah, we're going to the emergency room, so we can't do it. Yeah, we can't. But she was okay, and she just had her hand wrapped up. So I didn't know. I was like, is your whole finger still there? Because when she said she put it in a blender, I was like, is it gone? Like, is it in the blender? Dude, I'm not going to lie. I got real lucky with that. Like, real lucky. It wasn't as bad, yeah. It could have been so much worse. I just sliced my finger open, like, right at the edge of my, like, nail bed.

And my entire nail, I can like, if I press on it, like it pops up. So I think my nail is going to fall off soon. Yeah. It's like a press on, like if your press on nail is coming off. Yeah. So there's that. And I really hope I can lift and work out this week. I don't know if I will be able to. Obviously, keep in mind, this is a week later when you're listening to it. Yeah, you'll see. So you'll see if I'm able to work out, which I hope I will. Yeah.

But that's pretty much like the big update of this episode. That's what happened right before we recorded. So if you have some context, every time Sam is speaking, she has a throbbing finger in her lap. I'm just sitting there. Freshly spray tanned too. Yes, freshly spray tanned. I got spray tanned. So if you want to watch the spray tan video, that's actually up today. Today as we speak. The Friday. But yeah, that has been it. We've been just packing all day. And...

Trying to catch up with the week, I guess, because I don't want to work a lot next week. Right. We're trying to have a chill week in L.A., which is why we prerecorded this with Caitlin, and we were so happy to have her on. But a few things before we get into the interview. Instagram. Instagram.

Follow the podcast Instagram. 25K will be a good time. Yeah, trust us. We got another thing in request coming. Well, I mean, same thing in request coming. We just want to keep growing our little family that's now a big family. But make sure to follow the Instagram. That is just where you'll be in tune and in the loop with if we do a Q&A, if we do a giveaway, any of the things where you'll get the information to directly support our guest channel.

super easy to find them on the Instagram. Yeah. Just a really, really, really cool place to be. Yeah, I agree. And that's why we have brought in that family all

All the Instagram fam, over to Facebook. Hell yeah. And the Facebook fam, you guys are finally able to interact with each other and meet each other, and it's so cool. So keep doing that. Join the Facebook if you haven't already. We have to approve you into the groups based on your location, so just be patient, sit tight, because obviously we've already requested or approved like 4,000 of you already, so it takes time, but you'll eventually get approved into the groups, so...

It's a lot of, it's fun. I've been loving it. Love and read and all. Yes. You make Sam very happy. I mean, me too, but she looks, that's like her thing. She loves it. Um, last things, last merch is still for sale. Um,

shop fitness uncensored.com or go through the link in the podcast instagram bio right there in the little i was gonna say link tree but what is it a beak a beacon a beacon go you can find it right there we've been wearing it a ton highly recommend the hoodies i was checking to see if i was wearing it not wearing it i was wearing it this morning yeah and we wore it to the gym yesterday we twinned yeah but you can get your hands on that merch that way when you go into the gym

You can spot other people wearing it. And, oh, you know what we should do? I told Sam this. I think every Friday we should wear the merch to the gym. Yeah. And then you guys can do it too and we can match. Yeah. I like that. And we can post, like, Friday, it's merch day. Yeah. I like that a lot. Let's do it. Yeah. Okay. So you must. Yeah. You must wear it on Friday if you don't have it. Hopefully, if you order it today, you can get it by next Friday. Yeah. Facts.

So that would be super fun. And we can like repost it. And we can literally all be matching. And we also get asked a lot early. So I still notice it. Sizing. We wear large in everything. Yes. Large in everything. It runs kind of small. Like the large isn't super big. Yeah. No. At all. Feels like a medium. Like I could even wear like an extra large hoodie. For sure. Yeah. I agree. So. Yeah. Yeah.

And with that, let's get into it. Yep. Interrupting this episode to talk to you about Beam. Have you heard of Beam Be Amazing? Go to their site, youcanbeam.com and check out their flavors and see their reviews. These guys are so legit. And if you want, you can use our code FWORD for 15% off their products. Sam has been working with them for the past few months and I've tried the pre-workout and she's obsessed and I'm obsessed. They're literally the best tasting flavors and they have such a great story behind them. They have insanely good vegan protein. Which is so good.

with only 100 calories per serving. They also have a pre-workout that comes in sour blue gummy and it tastes so good, literally like a Sour Patch Kid. This stuff is amazing because it gives you no jitters and no crash. Their chocolate greens is also a favorite of ours. Literally somehow you get your serving of vegetables in something that tastes just like chocolate milk. I don't know how they do it, but it's amazing.

Again, make sure you check them out at YouCanBeam.com and use our code FWORD for 15% off their products. Now let's get into the episode. Okay, hey guys, we are now here with Caitlin, which is so exciting. We've been wanting her on the pod for such a long time and we put this together super last minute and I'm very excited about it. Very last minute, but we're very happy that you were able to do it. I'm so excited. Thank you for having me on.

Of course. So, Caitlin is one of my OG TikTok mutuals from back in the day. If you followed both of us from when we do each other's videos, you've been around for a while. But introduce yourself, tell us about you, what you do, where they can find you, all of that. Okay, I'm Caitlin Nolan. If you've never seen my face at all, I have a TikTok account, YouTube, Instagram, all the things. That's what I do for work.

And I actually started on TikTok, like Taylor was saying, like way in the beginning, quarantine days. And pretty much like what you'll see on my page is like self-love, self-care, obviously like fitness, wellness. And a lot of like my page is like talking about like body image and making sure that like mindset wise, just like everything is positive on my page. I want everything to be like a safe space.

Also, just like about me, I live in Arizona with my boyfriend. By ASU, we just got a puppy, but that's pretty much the rundown. I know. I remember you put on your story the other day. You're like, where should I visit? It's the new year. Like, I really want to travel. And you said LA, Florida, and one other place, but not Texas. And I was like, girl. New York. I was like, come on. I do. I do want to come to Texas eventually. My boyfriend actually got a job offer there, so it's up in the air. Oh, wow. You never know. Yeah. Interesting. All right.

Okay. So obviously, like you said, your stuff is very just like self-love. Like when I was planning this out with like over text and stuff, I was like, you are just that girl, like that balance wellness girl. And I love it. And I aspire to be it. But obviously you kind of like a transformation when you post your transformations. I don't recognize the first person. I don't recognize myself either. And it's like crazy. That's actually where I kind of started on TikTok was like, that's like, I think the first video that ever even like blew

blew up or whatever. And I think that it is so like shocking to people because of the lifestyle they see me live now. And I just like used to live a complete opposite lifestyle that didn't make me happy. So when I see those pictures, I'm like, oh my gosh, like how did you not notice like you were just not thriving? So it's like crazy how big of a difference it's made.

Yeah.

It's like crazy. Like, so right when I graduated high school, I did get like super into fitness. And that's like when my love for like lifting started. And then I kind of lost lost sight of that when I moved in, like with my college roommates, I think because I really overwhelmed myself the first year. I had like no balance. My mindset was just nothing.

and it burnt myself out. So for like one year, I like really focused on fitness, no balance. And then the opposite or the next year was like the opposite where I

I just like focused on going out and the social aspect of college, which is fine. Like I don't regret anything. Like obviously everything in life happens for a reason. And I think that I needed to go through all of those things to now reach like a balanced like part of my life. You know what I mean? Yeah. I just got the chills from that because that's kind of how I was too in college. Like I had the fear of like missing out and going out. And then I think experiencing that kind of led me to realize that's not who I am.

Yeah. And I think a lot of just even in like fitness, wellness, self-care, daily routines, like you have to have trial and error, you know, like how would you know if something didn't work well with you or like make you feel positive and happy if you don't try it out? And yeah, I think that it's taken me a really long time to get to this like balanced, happy place.

But I'm like so happy that I went through like that journey because now I actually feel like amazing and energized and happy and I'm not like forcing myself to do things I don't love to do. So I'm like so happy with where I've come.

What would you define that balance as? Like, what does that, like, entail for you personally? Because I know people have a bunch of different meanings. I know when we had our podcast with Kelty, which you guys could listen to also, that was a great one, we talked about how it looks different on so many people. So, I think, like, what do you define that as?

I love that you say that too, because just in general, like everything with fitness and wellness, like it is just so different for everyone. Like even the meaning of wellness, health, like just everything is so different. I think it's so important for people to remember that. For me, like balance is just making sure that I'm not focused on one thing at a time. You know, like I love fitness and it's like one of my biggest passions in life, but that doesn't mean that like fitness needs to control my entire life. And I also love like cooking and

all these other things. So I really want to make sure I'm like making an effort and being disciplined with myself to make sure that I'm not spreading myself too thin. And also just like making sure that my daily routine implements all of these different things. And that's where I've like really found balance is like through my daily habits, my daily routines. And yeah, it's definitely like easier said than done finding balance. And you really have to like look inward and just like listen to your own body.

I need like an in-depth on like you said, daily habits. What are they? I have a lot of them, but I would say like the daily, daily habits that I stick to is having a morning routine. That's the first thing I always like wake up, make my bed, do skincare, do

go make myself a coffee, go journal, stay off my phone, clean up a little bit. That's like my daily morning habit. And then I go straight into work. I always go on like a daily walk midday, work out, have my lunch. Well, I don't work out every day, but like the days that I do work out, that's kind of how it's structured. And then I go back to work. And then once it hits like 5 p.m., that's when I try and like put my computer away. Obviously, like we have to like film and stuff, but I'm

I usually put my computer away at that point and then I make dinner and then that's like my self-care time after dinner. And that's like what I do literally every single day. What about you guys? Like what's...

What's like five habits that you guys do like every single day? I just wanted to say like I really like to hear from her because I don't know if we've touched on this, but we're all with the same management team. And it's like really good to hear, though, that you take the time to kind of get less screen time. And I feel like we need so much more of that. And it's like so hard sometimes being like obviously with the jobs that we have, it's so hard to get off.

But I think that's one thing, a habit that I definitely want to build going into this new year. But...

One thing that I have noticed is my morning routine too. Like I, I'm not, I'm not going to call myself out right now, but I used to never make my bed like bad. And now that I started to make my bed in the morning, I've been doing it for like a little under a year now. It makes the biggest difference. So if you're listening to this right now and you don't make your bed, like please start doing it because I promise it makes a big difference. Okay. Spilling the tea. I don't make my bed. I was going to ask you.

but here's what I found okay so people are very like I know it helps a lot of people like so many people go by making their bed but I realized I would try to do everything that everyone was like that like like that's what's gonna change you and I was like okay but it doesn't really change me like I found days I make my bed versus didn't didn't really impact me that much and what does is like

drinking water when I wake up, reading before bed. Reading before bed changed my life way more than making my bed does. I think I'm going to look at you differently now. Yeah, no. I don't know why. I just don't really care to that much. You're walking into your room and just seeing a messy bed midday. I'm not really in my room that much.

I guess. I don't know. I don't know. It doesn't bother me that much to not make my bed. I like it. I realized a chill morning. I kind of like, I like a no pressure morning. You're crazy. I know I'm a weirdo. So weird. Well, anyway, but we can stick to our beds.

I actually love that you say that though because I feel like a lot of people will like listen to podcasts or like watch a TikTok video and they're like oh my gosh that's what they do like I need to do that and that's just not the case like I like love that you're like I just don't like making my bed just then don't do it you know what I mean and I feel like that's such an important takeaway that a lot of people forget when they're watching social media and on top of it like

With social media in general, you never really know what someone's, like, actually doing in their day. You know, like, you post five stories a day, ten stories, but you live 24 hours, you know? So I feel like it's so important for everyone to remember that. But at the same time, like, obviously be inspired by social media and, like, try things out and stuff. So I love that you say that, Taylor. Yeah, and I agree with what you said. Like, you never know what someone's real life is because...

even like with someone like you who's like so aesthetic on Instagram like I have in my head that that's like your 24-7 oh yeah no like I was gonna say when you were saying that like my bed isn't made today like I do try and make my bed every single day but like obviously there's some mornings and it's like Saturday I woke up like late whatever like I'm not gonna do these things every day and I always try and like bring reality to my page too and like my YouTube videos and also my podcast and just like

let everyone know like you don't see everything and it's definitely a goal of mine to make my bed every day but there's some days that I don't but at the same time those are the days that I realize that's why I love to make my bed and like at the end of the day I'm always like oh I wish I made my bed this morning so I feel like you kind of need to have some of those days to realize what habits you want in your life you know what I mean

Yeah, 100%, which is the same thing about what you said about going through those phases of being like not in a phase of life you really like because that's how you learn what you do like. I mean, same thing happened with me. Like I went through such a bad period of time in high school, in college mentally, and that's what brought me to what I actually learned that makes me happy and what I like. And now I'm so zoned in on what actually brings me joy.

because I went through all that and I feel like if you're listening to and you are going through a period in your life where you feel like that's where you're at right now you aren't happy you're not thriving or like the habits you're doing just aren't clicking like take inspiration from that and know that you will look back at some point and look back and think oh

okay, that's like when I changed my life or like I had to go through that to get here. You know what I mean? And like there's always just like the next day you can always turn your life around. That's really important. Like for anyone who's listening, like you can always change your life. And the only person who can change your life is you. And I feel like that's so important to remember. Yeah, that's exactly that's kind of what we talked about. Yeah, I know it is. I love that. Yeah, that's like a big part of our episode topic last week was just about

You know, if you're in some place that you don't like, you at least have to try doing, like, try something new that you think will make you join. If it doesn't work and if it doesn't completely change your life, it doesn't work. But you have to try. Yeah. You have to try yourself. It's not just going to.

fall into your lap. We literally ran into that forever. And if it doesn't work, at the end of the day, at least you did try. Like, that is one habit that you did to show up for yourself and, like, at least you were putting effort into making yourself happier, which is, like, one step closer, you know? That's, like, wellness and fitness journeys are about just taking one step closer, you know? Even if it sounds, like, cheesy, like, it really is true.

I know. You're not going to take 15 steps at a time, you know? Yeah. I feel like this, I forget what episode it was that we were talking about that where it's like, it sounds so cheesy, but really it is like step by step, day by day. You're not going to wake up overnight and just be like that different person. Exactly. Like when you look at someone, like your Instagram, you know, like the aesthetic and the food and the fashion, it's not like one day from the before photos, you were like,

I'm changed. Oh, yeah, no. New wardrobe, new grocery habits. It didn't just happen overnight. It's one thing at a time. Maybe first you change your fitness routine, then you change your food, whatever the order may be, but it wasn't overnight. Exactly. That's a good example with our food, too. We just had an episode, I think, what was it, three episodes ago? It was with Cash. She's a nutritionist, but...

When we talked with her about food and stuff, like we realized that we wanted to just kind of change up our eating habits and that's not going to happen overnight. We've just like very slowly but surely like change certain things that we are doing day to day with our food and it's already making a big difference, I feel. So yeah, that's like a good example.

One of the habits that I also focus on in regards to cooking and food and stuff is finding food that I literally just love and crave and enjoy and recipes that are still easy because I'm just a very impatient person. But when I love something, that's what makes it super exciting. I'll take the extra 10 minutes to make a meal that takes a little bit longer than

Because I enjoy it, you know, that's just going to make my lifestyle overall more enjoyable, which is like the goal. We want to enjoy what we're doing every day. You don't want to be like not enjoying the things that you're doing. I know. Yeah. We're in like that slump right now because we're obviously bulking. But like I agree with like I can go into the kitchen and probably spend like an hour in the kitchen just prepping something if I really like it and I'm really enjoying it. I think also what's really fun with cooking is you can make it an experience. Like I'll play a podcast and like I always will like

Just like set a vibe clean the kitchen like you want to make sure that it's like fun You know, I love cooking like I obviously have my recipe page and I used to not love cooking like I because i'm just very impatient And just like finding new recipes and stuff has been so fun. I usually look on like pinterest instagram TikToks stuff like that. How do you guys like get recipe inspo?

I don't even know, to be honest. I'm not a big recipe girl. I do a lot of, like, quote-unquote cooking. Like, I feel like it's barely cooking by just kind of, like, throwing things together. I'm a big, like, eat a carb, a protein, and a veggie in a bowl with, like, a sauce on it type girl. I'm not like, oh, I'm making this recipe. Yeah. I like efficiency because I'm insanely impatient. And I realize that that doesn't bother me. It's another thing, kind of like the making your bed, like,

I want to be a beautiful food person with the cool recipes. Like Sam does that. Sam will make a pizza and it's gorgeous and it's beautiful. And it's just not me. And I've like learned to kind of make it part of my brand almost because I eat like 99% vegan, like plant-based food.

um and I kind of want people to see that it doesn't have to be so crazy fancy because I think you can go to a lot of like vegan recipe pages they look so over the top fancy beautiful and it's almost like oh I could never yeah it's like intimidating yeah so I kind of like showing that it didn't take me any effort yeah there's definitely those expectations with food too where it's like

if I'm if I know I'm gonna be posting it I'll make it look pretty and then if I don't gonna post it like it's probably not gonna look as pretty but it still tastes the same you'll do a good job no I yeah yeah you make I mean I do but like like let's be real though like if I know like if I'm gonna be taking a picture I'm gonna like sprinkle the sesame seeds the green yeah like I'm gonna make it look good whereas like if I if I'm hungry and I just want to eat that's not happening yeah it's

like I love listening to when you say something Taylor that's like opposite of like say what me and Sam are saying and I just like I kept I just said this before but I keep saying it but like I just love how you're like I tried it and it didn't work for me and like I'm just gonna like find the habits that work for me and I love that that's like what you bring to the table especially like you and Sam obviously you guys have such a good dynamic but you're also obviously very different just because you're your own person so

Or persons. I don't even know if that's a word. But I just love that. How like you're like, I just I'm not going to take my time with making it look pretty. I just want to eat it. Which if you're listening and you're like, oh, my gosh, I hate making my food look aesthetic and stuff. Then just like don't do it. You don't have to do it. You don't have to do anything. Just do the things that work for you, you know.

Yeah, because all those little things are extra. And I do, I mean, some things I totally agree. Like what you were saying, cooking, making it a vibe, like cleaning the kitchen, light a candle, like that's a vibe always. And that just kind of like romanticizing your life part of it. Like there's some things that you do want to like, okay, like even like I'm going to go run errands, but I'm going to go in a cute outfit and like a little bit of makeup on.

Always. That's what I do. Like really like do things with like, I don't want to say with like a purpose, but like actually like go into something like head on and not just be like, just like moping through the day. And I feel like you do that. Like, I feel like you're a type to like go on a, like a hot girl walk and like a cute outfit. And like, even if you're working out from home, put on that workout set, those kind of things. I'm a strong believer in taking affirmations.

a few extra steps in romanticizing your life. Like, I feel like that is actually one of the biggest habits that I did now where, like, when I look at my life two years ago compared to now, like, one of the biggest differences I would actually say is romanticizing my life. And I'm

like for so like some examples of that is like what you said if I'm working out at home and even if I'm not like filming it for TikTok or whatever like I still want to look cute and feel confident and I know for me personally that's like putting on a cute workout set putting on like making my hair look cute like I'll even wear like makeup to the gym I don't really care like what other people are like oh I could never work out in makeup like that's perfect

but I love like just feeling super cute and elevated. So that's like the habits that I do, you know? And yeah, romanticizing your life just makes your life like 200 times better. I swear. Even just like little things, like everyone has their own version of it, you know? Yeah. I've definitely feel like I've picked up those like characteristics. Like for example, yesterday I was having like the worst day, just getting like super frustrated with myself. And

And it was like two o'clock in the afternoon and I wasn't wearing like makeup. I was just in baggy clothes. I was like, you know what, Sam, do your hair, do your makeup right now. Your day is going to like take a full 360 or 180. And it did. And it helped a lot. Like doing like those small things, like looking more presentable and doing something a little bit extra just for yourself throughout the day. Like it helps me. And I think those are some traits that I'm going to carry on with.

My new thing with my romanticizing my life is taking baths. I literally bought at

Epsom salt. And I'm like, you know what? Tonight I'm going to like take a bath with Epsom salts. Like I'm really sore. And I started cheer season two on Netflix. I'm going to put on Netflix, light a candle. Like I was like, I should do that more. Like take a bath. Like why not? And then it's also for me something with romanticizing my life, which is obviously like a privilege to be ordered to, to be able to do so. But it's like,

Spending a little bit more money, even if it's like kind of stupid or unnecessary on things that make me happy, like wellness shots. I love them. I think they're fun. I love them. I think they're just like, do they do anything? No. And I've said this before. I don't think they're magic. I just like them. They make me feel good. Yeah. If I go into Whole Foods, I'll buy a green juice because I want to.

like and it makes me I like even shopping at Whole Foods over like Randall's because I like the energy and it sounds stupid but I like it yeah it does and if you are listening and like you don't have like the money to spend extra money on like shots or whatever it is like you can totally find habits too that

are so simple to romanticize your life that are just, like, you don't even, like, realize that you could just take the extra step. Like, even just for me, one of the most, like, random habits is not scrolling on my phone, like, first thing when I wake up. Like, I see that as, like, a self-care habit because...

I notice how big of a difference it makes like maybe because we work in social media and it's kind of like stressful to just like jump right in right in the beginning of the day so like me like having that morning routine and stuff is me romanticizing my life like me taking extra effort to make my day better you know right yeah it looks so different on literally everyone there's so many different ways I can think of it I can't even go into all of them and they're all so different some of them are in like a wellnessy way and some of them are in like

a fun way like i've told sam like oh we should have like a wine night and watch the bachelor like that's not healthy or wellness yeah really by any means to sit on the couch and like drink wine and watch the bachelor but that's still romanticizing your life it's like it literally in all aspects yeah we even said like taco night we want to do like well we're going to la and we can't do that now but like when we get back we're like we should start doing like

where we're cooking food together because we never cook together. We always cook our own foods. But even middle of the week, bringing us together, eating the same thing and just making the same recipe, I feel like that's another thing. It's so fun.

It's also such a fun way to like bond with people and stuff like I obviously like live with my boyfriend And we always do that like we used to go out to restaurants all the time and like try all these new places pretty much when we like first moved out because we wanted to like Go to all the restaurants near us and stuff and I feel like we kind of like Got in a rut with it because we were just like bored with going out So we started cooking at home and I was like wait, this is just as fun like

picking like a longer meal to cook or like something more fun with like like literally tonight we're doing taco night where you like make the guac and like just make it like an elevated process and it's like so fun and you don't have to have like a boyfriend to do it with or you could literally do it by yourself like that's still very fun in my opinion i was gonna say you could literally do it by yourself yeah you don't need anyone could play a podcast that sounds like a great time yeah yeah oh my god yeah i might do that tonight you're like stay in your yeah i mean

She'll be in her bath and I'll be cooking. Literally. Literally. That's so funny. So next thing that I just kind of want to go into, well, we kind of touched on it, but what would you say? You said you don't work out every day, but what would be like your workout routine now? Like what, if you are going to work out, what's your workout of choice?

So for working out for me, a lot of the reason why I work out is for like mental health and just to feel a certain way. Like that's my biggest goal is to just feel like energized. And for me, like

working out is also intuitive so like I don't have like a workout plan or anything but I do have like goals so for example like one of my goals right now at least because my life is always changing but I try and work out five times a week that's just like what works for me and literally everyone is so different you know everyone has different lifestyles I work from home so I don't really move at all unless I'm like going to the gym so

So I try to work out five times a week and that always looks different for me. I love lifting. So some days I lift if my body's feeling it. Some days I go on a walk. Some days I do like a HIIT workout. I'm really into like follow along workouts just because I work out at my apartment gym alone. And I wish that I had someone like you guys. You guys are so lucky that you found each other because working out with a partner is just so fun. But I work out alone, but I love working out with people. So I love putting YouTube videos on.

I always do Sammy Clark workouts. Have you guys ever tried her workouts? I did. They were fun. She has like really fun, like hit style workouts. So some days I do that. So for me, I do aim on like five times a week and that's kind of like what I picture my workout routine to be, but I just work out intuitively.

So it looks different every day. And that's another thing too. If anyone who's listening, if you do like getting ruts with working out, I think one of the best ways to get out of a workout rut is to try a different workout style. You know, like if you've never tried yoga, like give it a try. You might love it and you might want to implement it into your routine. And it makes like working out so much more fun when you're like,

Just switching it up, I think. Or like at least adding, you know, like trying out some new things, like maybe once a week or something. Yeah, I agree. That's a good point. When I first started, like I don't really talk about this a lot, but like I have definitely tried everything. And now I'm obviously in a place where like I enjoy what I'm doing. Like I've tried yoga, sports, athlete, like everything, like anything you can name, like soul cycle, all of it. So, yeah, if you're just starting out, definitely try like out everything because you never know. Oh, yeah. No. Yeah. Mm hmm.

Sounds what I like. When you say Orange Theory, it's funny because I never did that because for some reason I was so intimidated by that place. Which one? Orange Theory. I worked there for like three years. That's how I got into fitness. Oh, okay, cool. I've done everything besides Orange Theory because it was so intimidating to me. The whole aspect of the clock and all the different things, I don't know, it just overwhelmed me.

I feel like that might even be kind of, like, inspirational to anyone who's listening. Because, like, I go on your page and I'm like, oh, my gosh, like, I need your guys' confidence in the gym. Like, you guys are just, like, so confident. And it's, like, crazy to hear you say, oh, I've never tried that workout because it, like, intimidates me. And people probably wouldn't think that about you. And a lot of people, it's reality. Like, they are intimidated to go to a gym. Like, even just, like, the regular, not, like, a class, but, like, a gym. It's, like, a huge thing with the fitness industry, like,

people don't get started because they're intimidated. And I feel like if you do feel that way, the most important thing I would say is knowing that like you deserve all of the space in the world there. Like I always say that, but like nobody in the gym deserves more space than anybody else, you know? Of course. Yeah. That is a very big thing. Like we've noticed that quite a bit, like on like the social media end of things where like even Taylor had this instance the other day where someone commented on her video and was like,

What was it? I was using two pairs of dumbbells to do like a super set. Two pairs of dumbbells, heaven forbid. And he was like, yeah, number one thing not to do in a gym is like, he said three sets of dumbbells. It was only two. But he was just very adamant that I was being a terrible gym goer. And Sam just said like, if it was a guy, he 100% doesn't say that. Yeah. Like people just commenting on the fact that like you were pretty much just like a waste of space in the gym, like taking up space, taking dumbbells, like everything.

When you shouldn't have, which is, like, so not true. Like, if someone wants two pairs of dumbbells, go use them if you want. Yeah. Like, to superset two different things, do it. Like, that's one thing that really frustrates me, too, because, like, the newbies, quote-unquote...

always get so intimidated by those things because they don't know what they're doing if it's wrong or right or if people are going to judge them for that reason and again with everything like orange theory spin anything oh yeah and spin i was kind of intimidated by i did it twice but because getting on the bike and getting the shoes in the bike and everyone comes in and they're locked and loaded and they get right on the bike and they brought their own shoes and the workers are like do you know how to adjust your bike and i'm like absolutely not i have

no idea how to work this like I don't know how to take my shoes out of the bike you're like stuck on it like stuff like that and even now in the gym I just like you literally have to see that literally no one cares and no one's watching you oh yeah the other day I was adjusting the back of the leg extension so like I pulled a little thing to move it and the whole entire back came off like I had the whole back like in my hand and I was like oops and I just put it back and if that happened to me

One of my first months in the gym, I would have been mortified. I would have left. Oh, yeah. I would have been like, I just, even though I didn't break it, I just put it right back. But I was like, I just broke a machine. I need to leave. Can't show my face here again. Absolutely.

everyone just saw that I'm a fool one time I almost fell in like the back hyperextension machine I almost ate it like face first I didn't care try again today sorry we're like rambling about this now I guess well like today's a prime example to have no one staring at you in the gym or anything because Taylor came up to me keep in mind Taylor's literally working out right in front of me on the deadlift platform and I'm right behind her and she comes up to me she goes did you see that I'm like no what she's like I just definitely

it's like this amount. And I was like, I was like, I'm sorry, but I did not see that. But I'm just like,

Yeah, like I'm not really paying attention to anyone in my whereabouts when I'm working out at the gym. And also like just in general, if you are at the gym and you do feel that way because it's inevitable, like you might like you can remind yourself of all these things, but you might still feel this way. Just know like there's other people there that also feel that way. Like we all are like, oh my God, did they see that? Like is anyone watching me? Like everyone feels that way there. So if that's comforting for you, like just keep reminding yourself that.

And like, I'm definitely not the most confident person in the gym. Like I've been working out for five years and I still have days where I'm like, Oh God, like that looked so embarrassing. Or I'll be like, am I doing the wrong form? Like the people behind me are probably like, this girl does not need to be here. You know what I mean? And you just have to be like, no, like stop yourself when you say that. And like, be like, no, I am doing the right thing. I meant to be here. And if you like,

there's nothing wrong with asking for help either you know like if I saw you guys in the gym I would for sure come up to you because I feel like you guys are just like such a welcoming like duo I'd be like can you guys help me lift this or whatever I would for sure

Yeah. We are, we like are hype girls of girls in the gym. I told Sam the other day, cause I'll be looking at a girl or something if she's squatting really nice and I'll like be staring, but I'm staring. Cause I'm like, damn, that's so impressive. She looks so good. And sometimes I make sure to tell them, I'm like, by the way, I was just looking at you. Cause I thought you were doing a good job. If you thought I was like, you know,

like you look really good and I'm jealous of you it's also such a good way to make friends is at the gym just like going to talk to people because you already know that you have like a common interest with them like especially if anyone's in college or like if you're at your college campus at the gym or at a gym like near your college or high school wherever whatever or just in general you

It's such an easy way to make a friend because you already know that you both are into fitness and it's like right there you can start talking about something. No, of course. I like am on repeat when I say this, like on every social media platform. My biggest thing is when you see another girl around your age or like you think you can be friends with,

compliment their outfit like oh yeah just like walk away make that first like thing happen because it goes such a long way giving a compliment but then after that she might feel also comfortable complimenting you or saying something to you and then vice versa and then that's how like a friendship can blossom from there and you never know like who needs it too because I think confidence is such a huge struggle that so many so many people struggle with and a lot of people don't talk about it either and

And if you like go up to someone and compliment them, I'm sure we've all been complimented in public before and we're just like, oh my gosh, like that just like made my day. And it truly does turn your entire day around if you get complimented. No, yeah, of course. Yeah, even like on social media, like if I post something and someone's like, like that looks so good or like, oh, like your makeup looks pretty. I'm like, oh, thanks. Like I wasn't sure about it when I left the house. But like I really appreciate that. Yeah.

And even on the flip side of it, too, it's like your words carry, you know, like you if you comment something negative or say something negative to someone like that will make them feel negative. So just like.

Of course. It's not even that it'll make...

The person feel negative. Because you like insulted them. It'll make you feel negative. Because you're putting out such. Negative energy. Yeah. Energy. How is that going to make you feel. Like when have you ever felt better about your day. Because you started it by going on someone's TikTok. And being like you're ugly. Yeah. Yeah. No. I fell off. Yeah. That's my go-to hate comment recently. Is that I fell off. That's my. That's. That's a good one. Yeah. Like what. I fell off. But. So. Confidence. I feel like.

Obviously, I keep saying the before and after photos, but it's just crazy. Like with your fashion account and stuff, I just feel like you have the confidence to be like sidewalk, you know, like tripod up or like boyfriend in the photo, you know, like posing with like an I don't care mindset. And like, did that how did you develop that?

I think the biggest like difference in becoming more confident was talking to myself in a positive way. And I've talked about this so much on my pages and it's like a huge part of like what I post daily is just like positive self-talk because that's something that I've always struggled with is I just naturally will negative self-talk, especially in the gym. Like

I'll be like working out or just really anything and like something negative will pop in my head and be like, oh my God, you look dumb or something like that. And I'm like, what? Why am I already like tearing myself down? So something that I've implemented is doing affirmations. And this is something else that sounds cheesy.

But, and it feels cheesy too when you do it, but it doesn't matter because it really does affect the way that you feel about yourself. And I just think that like positive self-talk is one of the most important things. And also another thing that has fully changed my life. No, no, I like that. I need to get more like that. Not gonna lie. Yeah, I wish I was like...

like big into affirmations and stuff and like I'll try sometimes and I feel like I do it just more so like internally yeah like I try to really like when I feel good about myself I try to really really sink in it like I have no shame if I go to the gym one day and I think my outfit looks so bomb on me I'm having a great body image day I'm literally taking selfies I'm taking videos I'm taking pictures I'm making TikToks like I'm soaking it in and being like damn I look so good but then if I have days where I don't like it

I just tried not to even think about it. Which took a lot of growth to get to the point where I'm like, I don't like how my body looks today, but I'm not even going to acknowledge it. Because before I would have looked in the mirror and picked myself apart.

But I've gotten to a place where it's like, if I like how I look, that's great. And if I don't, I literally won't think about it for longer than a second. Yeah. Like, that's a good point. Like, I feel like girls will see our Instagrams and just assume that, like, when we go take photos, it's, like, a great day. Like, we got our photos that we needed. But, like, we are taking photos because obviously it's our job. But, like, we're taking photos every single day. And we've definitely come to that point over the relationship with ourself where if we take a photo shoot, we look at the photos and –

We don't like how we look in that photo. We're not going to let it ruin our day. We're just going to move on, then try again the next time we do a little photo shoot or something like that. It happens a lot. I would say it happens like...

I don't know. Quite a bit. But, like, let's be real, though. Like, I feel like girls definitely will look at our page and just assume, like, all right, I'm going up to that wall taking a photo, and I love it instantly, and it's going up on my Instagram. Oh, no. I literally take 700 photos to get one picture. I'm not kidding. Oh, same. And not even that, but I will take, like, five rounds of 700 photos and still only end up with one to post. And...

I feel like that's another reason why social media can be toxic because people look at it and they're like, oh, I like I've tried taking pictures and I didn't get one that I liked and they like got it so easy. Like that is not the case. Even with little things like even like food photography. Like when I take pictures of my food, I will literally take a million of them. Just like everything on social media is elevated and toxic.

like fully picked out of a million photos. So it's so important to remind yourself of that. And then also what you were saying going off of like, if you take a picture or you wake up and you just like, don't feel good. And for whatever reason, everyone has different insecurities. Something that has helped me is complimenting things that have absolutely nothing to do with body image. Like me saying, Oh, I'm such a funny person. Like I'm like such a good friend to be around and reminding yourself of all the qualities that are so important that you

It like shifts your mindset away from what you were already feeling negative about, you know? Yeah. I was very like mental health was very bad for me a few months ago. And I did try that. Like I, I was in the point where I needed to really just do like a one 80 with like my whole morning routine. And I would like,

This is back when I would try to hit my 10K steps a day, but I would go on a morning walk and I'd come back upstairs and I just literally go into my room. I have a massive mirror in my room and I just like sit down and like say three things. And it did help me. Like, I swear it did help. It was just one of those things where I just didn't develop that habit and like stick with it. But here and there, like throughout the day, I will do stuff like that. But when I did it in the morning like that, it definitely did help. Yeah, I just obviously didn't stick with it.

Yeah, I think that's a big thing too with habits that you know feel good but aren't the easiest to do. Like even me, it's like, no, I don't wake up every day and I spend 10 minutes in the mirror complimenting myself. Like that's not realistic. But I try my hardest to do those things even if they're not easy to do. You know, we want to challenge ourselves too. That's like a huge part of just overall changing your lifestyle is you want to challenge yourself and like grow. And for me, like that was one of the things that

I had to like challenge myself to do and now I just like do it in general like I don't really think about it just like part of my daily routine so yeah just like challenging yourself I think is really helpful

Yeah. Yeah. And that's how it is going to be a challenge because we've said it before. You don't grow or make changes because you're just comfortable and happy. Yeah. It's that's not you don't you can't change by just keeping things the same and being comfortable. It's going to be a lot of frickin work. Like it's going to be uncomfortable to to move out to switch your eating habits to go to a new gym.

But it's necessary and it's only going to be uncomfortable for a little bit. Yeah. And also, I think finding a balance too, because yes, you want to challenge yourself. But at the same time, the habit that you're like challenging yourself to do should be something that makes you happy, you know? And like we've talked about it literally 50 times in this episode, but like making your bed, it's the easiest habit to like give as an example because who likes making their bed? Like nobody likes to make their bed. It's the worst thing ever.

but you know that it makes you feel good, you know? So it's like this balance of, yes, it's challenging me, but the reason I'm doing it is because it makes me happy or like drinking water. You know what I mean?

Right. Yeah. But that initial, I think it's hard for people to see past that initial challenge, especially because this is like something I feel like so like deep and like annoying saying this, but the whole like instant gratification, like everyone wants like just good things handed to them. And like, I mean, it's because of like the technology and stuff. Like we get whatever we want instantly on like a phone and stuff.

stuff but it's knowing that like it's you're gonna need a little bit of work to get the the payoff it's not just gonna come handed to you yeah everything that's worth having and is good for us takes time that's what i've always thought even like relationships like even for you guys it's like

It's been like from the time you first met to the point you guys are at now being like best friends, working out together all the time like that didn't happen overnight. You know, you don't make bonds with people overnight. Just everything takes time to grow. Yeah. Taylor definitely thought I hated her for like a while.

Oh my god. A little bit. Well, I did for a little bit. Not like hated me, but like didn't like me that much. But then I realized that Sam is very upfront with things that she doesn't like. And if she does not like something or someone, she would just choose to not be around them. And she asked me to move in. So I was like, okay. Maybe you do like me because it seems like from just like your personality, if you didn't, you just like, you're like, no, I'm not doing it. So I was like, and then one time I was like, your background on your phone. And I was like,

Yeah, I remember you saying that. I was like, damn, it really makes a big difference. Yeah, I don't know. I just kind of thought you needed me a little bit. You like wait until you actually have moved in with her. You're like, okay, now she likes me when you like already are moving into her apartment. Yeah, I know. Yeah, I'm like, I hope she likes me. No, because like think about it though. Like before you even moved in, we only hung out maybe like five, six times. Yeah.

So crazy. It's hard, like, making friends over social media, especially if you don't live in the same state. Like, I've met so many cool people online, but most of my friends don't live in Arizona. So it's, like, when you see them, you have to, like, plan a trip, but that takes time and, like, all these things. So it really is, like, crazy how you guys just move in after only seeing each other for five times. But...

like that's like you had to do that because how else were you gonna you weren't gonna wait like five years to hang out a hundred times you know yeah I mean it's what we were saying that whole like it made us happy to hang out together we were both like not in the happiest of situations so like was it gonna be kind of challenging to be like hey parents met this girl on the internet I'm moving a few states away like you know what that I'm also dropping out of college they were like

Yeah. And I'm like, well, I'm happy it worked out. Yeah. It could have gone the other way. Yeah. Thank God. I know. I know. It definitely helps that I went to meet your parents in Miami. That's second. Well, yeah. I mean, and they know we have like good judgment. Yeah. And we have jobs that you can kind of see our entire life.

Yeah. So it's like, I know more about what you did than some people I've known my whole life. Like, I know what you ate for breakfast. I know what, you know what I mean? Well, that's why, like, when you said when we first got on the call, you're like, wait, I don't think we've ever even talked over the phone. And I was like, what? Like, I actually thought that we had because I've watched both of your guys' like, everything. So I'm like, I couldn't even, like, believe that we hadn't talked on the phone because it feels like we have. It feels like we've hung out in person. I know. You know? Yeah. It does, though. And...

Yeah, but that's just how you feel because I've seen all of your life. I've watched your vlogs. I know what your apartment looks like. You know what I'm saying? I know what your dog looks like and I know you just got a dog. I know the things that most people would need to have a dinner with a friend to catch up. I'd be like, yeah, I know. Yeah.

It's one of my favorite parts about social media is it genuinely feels like you have a friend. Like that's why I love like doing what we do because like getting a message saying like, oh, like I was having a bad day and I like put your podcast on to feel like I was listening to a friend. Like those messages make like.

it's like the reason why we all, I'm sure you guys feel the same way. Like why we do what we do, you know, like being that friend for someone is the best feeling ever. Cause I definitely wouldn't before I was even a social media influencer. Like I would look to people on YouTube to feel like I had a friend when I needed it, you know? So it's like so cool that it's come like full circle and we're able to do that for other people.

Yeah. And I still do that with podcast and YouTubers. I have like my comfort people, but that's why even like we started this like Facebook group so everyone could like meet each other and put their Instagrams and get to know each other. Cause it's not even about being like a quote unquote influencer to feel this way. Like,

I we suggest everyone to put whatever they like to do on the internet. Even if you could just find a mutual that like also is into like wellness and like lifting and stuff and you both don't need to have followers. It could be like watching their stories and like commenting back and forth. Like, yeah, it'd be like that extra little push, especially when doing stuff is challenging. Like you said, going to the gym alone is tough sometimes if you're not the most confident and even having someone even even though they're through the phone.

Like you guys can both like plan like, oh, you're doing like the same workout today. Like, I don't know. You can still make a friend over the internet. And I think that's something so important to take advantage of. Yeah. It's one of my favorite things about social media. I didn't, I don't follow your second Instagram. And I honestly, it took me a while to realize you had a second Instagram. A lot of people say that. Yeah. Which one do you use more by the way? I use my personal. So like,

When I first started, it was definitely 50-50 and I like it was like hard to kind of like separate the two. But I've kind of gotten it down now where I have one page specifically just to post my recipes. Like my foodie girl is all recipes and I just wanted it to be organized like that because I know a lot of people love like my recipe inspo. So I wanted a page for that. And then my personal account is pretty much everything else.

And then like my YouTube is like everything, podcast is everything, TikTok's everything. So the only platform that I have two pages on is my Instagram. And at the beginning, Taylor, like you keep calling it my fashion Instagram because at the beginning, I feel like that is kind of what it was. It was like I would post like my outfits on that one and then everything else on Foodie. But I feel like it got kind of confusing. So I've like niched it down to like one pages recipes and then one page is just like my lifestyle. Yeah.

Okay, same. Yeah. So going into that, what I wanted to say was like, it is good too to have like two different accounts because you do food and like it is good to connect with people like on that aspect, like food, wellness, like that type of stuff. And like, speaking of food,

Speaking for someone who isn't necessarily like a creator who is just like small, say they have their personal Instagram, creating like that safe place where you can like connect with other people doesn't necessarily have to be a fitness account. It can be like, like we said last episode, like a soapy account. Yeah, our whole thing was like if you're into making soaps. Soaps? Like,

make an account for that. Like be a boss bitch and like go with it. But like what I'm saying is like that helps so much with like connecting with those people because even if you never meet those people on like in person, getting those compliments or those interactions day to day make the biggest difference. Yeah. You just feel so like, what's the word I'm looking for?

Like worthy, not worthy. Like you just feel so satisfying. Yeah. Like, because I remember when I first started, like when I first made my page, I was like, holy, holy crap. Like I'm interacting with more people online right now than I am like in my like day to day life. Yeah. That's like my date. Like that is literally me every single day. I'm like, I have so many friends who,

But then I'm like, wait, I like hang out with my puppy all day long, but it feels like I have a million friends, but it's like, it's all online. Yeah, literally. And even like when we were like, like I said, like mutuals in the beginning of time with like that other little group of like, we had like a little group of us. We had a Snapchat group chat and everything.

I felt like those were my friends. Oh, yeah. And being able to, like, ask, like, the little questions and being like, my post is under review. Like, what does that mean? Like, I would always just, like, ask the most random things. But it was, like, so fun to have, like, a little support system. Yeah. It just, it felt so nice just to have people that, like, cared and were interested. Sorry, guys. We're plugging in my laptop. Like, what the heck are you guys doing? Sam was like, you have 5% of the time.

Like, anyway, the episode's over. I'm just kidding. Yeah, I just want to, like, cut out. Okay. Fixed. But, yeah, I feel like that. I feel like we covered a lot. No, we definitely did. Went all over the place. No, but in a great way. I love it all. Do you want to just plug yourself one last time, like, where they can find you on everything? Yes. It's at Caitlin Nolan. Three ends in the middle, two ends at the end.

And my YouTube channel is just Caitlin Nolan. And then my podcast is Not Your Typical with Caitlin Nolan. I just launched it like a month ago. So there's only like four episodes by the time you guys listen to this. Yeah, well, that's enough to catch up on. You can listen, take a few days to catch up. So we are so happy to have done this. I loved it so much. Make sure to go on the podcast Instagram and...

to the post that we repost of Caitlin's so you can comment that you're from the podcast because we'll have them go to your page and comment that they're from the podcast because one just to you know hype you up give you a little engagement and
