When I hear the term never forget, when it comes to September 11th, there's another thing that I never forget. And I never forget how united we were as a country the day after that happened. September 12th, 2001. We had...

people stepping up in their communities. They weren't ripping them apart, they weren't burning them down, they weren't doing any of that. What they were doing was they were supporting their neighbors, they were serving their communities, they were protecting their communities, they were serving their country and protecting their country. We didn't have public figures and athletes and the so-called role models today kneeling for the national anthem.

Instead, we had people giving up their NFL contracts to go serve the country and fight for what they believed in, like a true American. We didn't have the media trying to divide us and only spitting out certain facts. We had media that understood that we had a common goal as a nation, which was to protect our citizens and make our country safe again. And that was enough to unite us.

We didn't have a government who was trying to rip us apart and divide us. We had a government who was trying to unite us. They were trying to unite us because that's the only way that you can accomplish anything. It has to do with compromising and uniting as one. And I think we could all use a little bit of that today. Actually, we could all use a whole hell of a lot of it today.

That's what I remember when I think about September 11th. I think about the fallen and I think about how united we used to be as a country. Just remember one thing: united we stand, divided we fall.
