Live from NPR News, I'm Dale Willman. Vice President Kamala Harris released a medical report from her doctor today and used it to support her argument that former President Donald Trump is not fit for the Oval Office. Harris spoke to reporters traveling with her to North Carolina, where she's campaigning this weekend. NPR's Elena Moore reports.

The vice president's doctor says she's in excellent health. Almost immediately after the report was released, Harris, who is 59, went on the offensive against Trump, who is almost two decades older. She says he hasn't released the kind of medical reports that other candidates for the office have. On top of his unwillingness to debate again, his unwillingness to...

to an interview with 60 Minutes, which again, is part of the norm of what anyone running for president of the United States does. And I think that it's obvious that his team, at least, does not want the American people to see everything about who he is. A spokesman for Trump said he's released enough information over the years to show he is in, quote, perfect and excellent health for the job. Elena Moore, NPR News.

With Election Day now just over three weeks away, Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump was campaigning in California today. During a rally in the Coachella Valley, he said he will return the state to Republicans. The radical left Democrats have destroyed this state, but we are going to save it and we're going to make it better than ever before. Kamala Harris, meanwhile, is in North Carolina. She'll be holding that event in Greenville on Sunday.

The America First Policy Institute says its computer systems have been breached by what they call hostile foreign actors. They say the breach was discovered last week, but they've not said what materials were compromised. The organization has been publishing policy guidelines and writing draft legislation for a potential Donald Trump administration.

Three days after Hurricane Milton slammed into Florida's west coast, residents are still having a hard time finding gas. Sky LeBron from member station WUSF has more. Autumn Boyd says she's been waiting two hours to fill up her tank on her three-gallon motorcycle. I had to use PTO in order to be here, and I've just been using my vacation hours to sit in line.

Andrew Thomas says he's been waiting five hours to get gas. He says finally getting to the pump will be a huge relief. It's going to be like riding on a roller coaster. Once you're you wait in line for all that time for five minutes of good joy. And halfway during the week, you're going to be like, I got to do this all again.

Governor Ron DeSantis announced the state has opened three fuel depots in the region to help meet the demand and plans to open more. Residents can get up to 10 gallons of free gas at the depots. For NPR News, I'm Sky LeBron in Tampa. Almost a million and a half people are without power in Sao Paulo, Brazil this evening after a brief but powerful storm hit South America's largest city. The late Friday night storm had winds as high as 67 miles an hour, knocking down trees and taking out power transmission lines.

At least seven people were killed during that storm. You're listening to NPR News. Support for NPR and the following message come from Bowlin Branch.
