Live from NPR News in New York City, I'm Dua Lisa Kautau. Israel has hit a hospital-turned-shelter in Gaza for a seventh time since the start of its war on Hamas. This is according to first responders on the ground and local health officials. Videos recorded by eyewitnesses showed a large fire burning through tents. The UN agency working to help displace Palestinians described the scene as another shocking night of horror.

Ireland is one of the most pro-Palestinian countries in Europe and one of a handful that have recognized Palestinian statehood. It's also one of dozens of countries that contribute to troops to a United Nations peacekeeping force in southern Lebanon. Those troops have come under Israeli fire in recent days, prompting a series of strongly worded statements from Ireland's prime minister and peers, Lauren Frick.

Freyer reports. The Irish Taoiseach or Prime Minister Simon Harris says Israel must stop firing on UN peacekeepers. And he says he took this up with President Biden when he visited the White House last week. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has called these peacekeepers hostages of Hezbollah.

and asked them to evacuate. They have refused. In Gaza and in Lebanon, where Israel says it's targeting Hamas and Hezbollah respectively, Harris accuses it instead of the, quote, deliberate targeting and abuse of civilians. He says it's past time that the international community unites not only in condemning this, but in action to bring it to an end.

Harris says he'll raise this with European leaders in Brussels this week. Lauren Fryer, NPR News, London. The Native community in Minneapolis is marking Indigenous Peoples' Day by making sure people are registered to vote and are informed about the issues. Minnesota Public Radio's Alison Herrera reports.

White Earth citizen Heather Michelson has already voted, but took the day off work to join the Make Voting a Tradition rally, celebrate Indigenous Peoples Day, and get a Reservation Dogs-themed shirt encouraging people to vote.

Some of the issues she's concerned about? Well, I mean, the economy is really important and also women's rights. Make Voting a Tradition has been a nonpartisan, culturally-centered initiative since 2015, run by the Native American Community Development Institute and the Minneapolis-based American Indian OIC. So far this year, they said they've been able to register more than 900 people.

For NPR News, I'm Alison Herrera in Minneapolis. Both former President Donald Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris are in Pennsylvania, the country's largest battleground state. Trump is meeting with voters in the suburbs of Philadelphia, while Harris is in Erie, the northwest corner of the Commonwealth. In 2016, Trump narrowly defeated Hillary Clinton by 44,000 votes. This is NPR News.
