Last week, Colorado's Supreme Court ruled that former President Donald Trump will be disqualified from the 2024 primary ballot, arguing that his involvement on January 6th conflicted with the 14th Amendment’s “insurrectionist ban.” Michigan’s Supreme Court heard a similar case and ruled that Trump would remain on the ballot. Colorado's Secretary of State, Jena Griswold, says that the former president’s name will appear on the ballot unless a move by the U.S. Supreme Court gives the state of Colorado the authority. Professor of Law at George Washington University, Jonathan Turley, joins to break down what the decision in Colorado means for the election and whether or not the states have the legal right to decide who will appear on the ballot.

Alice Marie Johnson spent 21 years in prison after she was sentenced to life without parole in 1997 for cocaine trafficking in Memphis, Tennessee. In 2018, after some public advocacy on her behalf from celebrity Kim Kardashian, President Trump granted Alice clemency and had her released. Today we revisit our interview with Alice Marie Johnson, where she discussed her past, her time in prison, and how she is using her freedom to help advocate for criminal justice reform to aid other folks just like her. She discussed what she believes is the right path toward reform and how she’s giving back after "getting a second chance at life."
