The COVID-19 pandemic shined a spotlight on remote education.

For many, families and teachers found it challenge and blame that period of the recent decline of test scores.

But now that children have mostly returned to the classroom, schools are finding it increasingly difficult to staff teachers.

The problem is so bad in some cases, districts across the country are resorting back to remote learning and reaching out to third-party companies to employ instructors to educate students from miles away via an online connection.

Earlier this month, host the FOX News Rundown's Lisa Brady spoke with Susan Moore Johnson, research professor at the Harvard Graduate School of Education, and Evan Erdberg, founder and former president of Proximity Learning Inc. about remote learning and whether it could help with the ongoing challenges the education system is facing.

The guests provided the pros and cons of the issue and discussed how best to address learning loss and our country's teacher shortage

We made edits for time and thought you might like to hear our entire conversations with both education experts Susan Moore Johnson and Evan Erdberg. On today's FOX News Rundown Extra, you'll learn even more about the debate over remote learning and the issues facing our school.
