Several states in America are rethinking prostitution. Or at least how to address those who are involved in it.

For example, Maine's Governor Janet Mills recently signed a bill that will no longer make it a crime - for at least the adult offering sexual services. However, It would still be illegal to buy sex or be a pimp.

And in New York state, lawmakers are also weighing a bill that would decriminalize 'sex work'.

Not surprisingly, these bills have reignited the debate over how best local and state governments should address the 'world's oldest profession' and those whose lives are negatively affected by it.

Earlier this month, New York Republican State Senator Anthony Palombo and Vice President of the National Center of Sexual Exploitation Eleanor Gaetan joined the FOX News Rundown's Lisa Brady to discuss the pros and cons of legalizing, decriminalizing, or over prosecuting prostitution.

Both guests had concerns for the safety of sex trafficking victims, but had different ideas on how best to help them and address the other crimes and social problems associated with the sex trade business.

We made edits for time and thought you might like to hear our entire conversation with Congressman New York Republican State Senator Anthony Palombo and Vice President of the National Center of Sexual Exploitation Eleanor Gaetan. On today's FOX News Rundown Extra, you'll our entire conversation about this complex issues.
