Last night, South Sydney had a 22 points to 12 win over the Brisbane Broncos. They made it three straight wins. Gee, this bloke's been doing a great job as the interim coach of the Rabbitohs. I speak of Benny Hornby. He's on the line. G'day, Ben. How you going? Mate, very well. Congratulations on the victory last night. Gee, Latrell Mitchell ran right and you must have been impressed with the Rabbitohs' performance to beat the Broncos.

Yeah, it was a great performance. Each week we've been sort of trying to get better and the Broncos were obviously a good test last year's grand finalists. So we put in a good first half. We held on in the second. So yeah, it was pleasing. Why do you think the change, mate? Do you think it's Luttrell? I actually think it's your forwards have just aimed up a bit better. I thought your forwards were quite disappointing in the early stages this year.

I think everyone's playing better, to be fair. Like I said, when I took over, we'd been losing for a while. So there's some habits that probably crept in and we've been able to slowly sort of work those out of our game and it's making everyone look better. When you stop making errors and giving penalties away, it makes it a lot easier. I'll tell you what else stood out to me, the effort areas and defence as well, but just chasing everything, working so hard for every last thing.

Yeah, the boys have been really working hard on that. It's something they want to get better at and we've been trying to train it as best we can. At the end of the day, the players are out there doing the hard stuff, so if they want to do something, we can help them and they can see it in their game if they want to work hard enough at it. I personally think Jack Whiten's move to 5A has been great. Katie Walker, obviously, in the halves. It's a shame some of the halves were injured, but you must be happy with the way they're going the past three weeks?

Yeah, they're starting to grow. Obviously, the first week we tried to do it, Cody got hurt, couldn't play. So Jack had to go out there by himself and work with Dion. But yeah, they've had two games together now. I think there's still a fair bit of improvement in them. So yeah, it's pleasing to see Jack get a chance in the halves and Cody obviously putting the team first and moving to the other side of the field. Do you think you might lose a couple of the boys to origin duties?

I'm not sure, to be honest. I think obviously Trell's got a bit of support behind him at the moment, so assuming he could probably make the team. But the other guys, I'm not too sure what they're just going to do with the side. So whoever they pick, I'm sure they'll have plenty of good players and we'll be getting the win. What about for your South fans out there? I mean, you struggled this year, there's no doubt about it. You've now won four games, though. The season's not over for you guys. Do you want to make that top eight?

Yeah, well, at the moment, we just concentrate on winning each week. Like I said last night, we've got a team that can win every game if we play our best. So all we've got to concentrate on is playing at our best. So if we keep that mindset and we keep training hard, then good things will happen for us. Mate, you've got a good player still out of the side, Campbell Graham. Where's he at, mate?

Yeah, Campbell's ticking along. He had a scan not too long ago, so the bone's starting to grow back. Yeah, he's still a few weeks away, though, to be honest. He'll probably pass around 20. So, yeah, he's still got a little ways to go. Ben?

Ben, how are you enjoying being a head coach at the moment, mate? I mean, every man and his dog is being linked to power of matter. I think I'm right in saying you're happy at South to work under Wayne next year. But to be thrown in the deep end with what happened with Jason, Demetriou and everything else, has it been a challenge for you, but one you've enjoyed?

Oh, it's been great. Yeah, I really enjoyed the challenge. As I said, we'd been losing there for probably a year. So it was a tough challenge, but we've started to turn it around now and now it's about keeping that going. So, yeah, I've loved every minute of it. It's not the ideal way to get a job, but it is an opportunity for me as well. So I'm just trying to take it with two hands and the boys have been great. So down the track, Wayne's obviously signed on for a couple of years. Would you like to maybe one day be the legitimate head coach of the South Sydney Rabbitohs?

Well, that's my goal. I want to be a head coach, so I've made no times about that. That's what I want to do. So if it's here or somewhere else, then I'm just trying to put my best foot forward in the role I'm doing. And if I do that, the rest will take care of itself. Well, good on you, mate. Well, it's a pressure position, but

you're handling it well at the moment. Three straight wins for the Rabbitohs and as Gal mentioned four for the season. Let's hope it continues. I'm a South Sydney supporter and they looked pretty good last night off the back of Latrell Mitchell's performance as well. Enjoy your weekend Ben. We'll catch up soon. Thanks for having me. Good on you buddy. Ben Hornby the Rabbitohs interim coach and like I say the South Sydney Rabbitohs finally getting a few wins on the board.
