Let us pray.
You were just an ordinary man to them, with no external attractiveness. They scoffed at your humility and saw no virtue in your gentleness, and your obedience unto death was weakness. They could not comprehend the magnitude of your sacrifice. When you were raised up on that cross, you took my sins with you. I hung on that cross with you.
I deserve the price you paid for my freedom. You loved me so much that you were willing to die in my place to redeem me for all eternity. I have never known that kind of love, nor will I ever in this life. It is you and you alone who loves unconditionally and will never leave me or forsake me. You have bound yourself to me throughout all eternity and are not ashamed to call me your own.
I am not ashamed to declare your lordship over my life. I love you, Lord, and I belong to you. You are my Father, King, Savior, and my heart's delight. Welcome to Grace Grace with Nina Michelle. I'm Michelle Humphreys. And I am Nina Keegan. Welcome to the broadcast today. Today we're going to be talking about the words of Jesus. What did Jesus speak, especially on repentance? And, you know, if we...
know the very words that he spoke even like the Lord's prayer and how he told us to pray and the Bible says that as Jesus is in the world so are we and that we can do the same things that Jesus did even greater things because he is gone to be with his father and he is sitting right next to him interceding for us and so how are we going to know that we can be like Jesus and
And what he did, unless we really study the word, his words and what he did while he was here. And I think about Michelle, even that he spent 30 years studying.
30 years. He was the son of God. He was Jesus. He was God. And yet 30 years, he did not do anything. He didn't do any miracles. I mean, you know, those things came and his whole life came down to three years of ministry and miracles when he was ready and he had to be prepared. And so
And that's what we need to watch. We need to look at those things. It's not like Jesus just had this, you know, gung-ho life. He was swinging a hammer. He was, you know, working as a carpenter and living a regular life so that he would know the normal things that we go through as human beings. Well, and that's what, you know, the Bible says that we are not going to a God that has not experienced...
He experienced how we feel. He grieved. He wept. He felt pain. So he understands. He had compassion.
He ministered to his friends and family. He, you know, he had a full life. He went to weddings, right? I mean, and the simple message of the gospel is the kingdom of God has come near. Repent and...
And believe the good news. Yep. And so when you think about it in just a simple way, it really is so simple. So, okay, let's... So the kingdom of God has come near. When Jesus came to the earth, the kingdom of God encountered the earth. And there it was, Jesus on the earth. And so think about how...
We repent because Jesus came back. He lived a perfect life, even though he went through everything we went through or go through. And now here we are. He's saying, step it up. Let's repent. Let's turn around.
Let's turn from our sins and let's repent. Right. And I just think about so many times, you know, you know, you may repent many times for the same thing. And Nina and I, before the show, we were talking about, you know, our first jobs. And I was saying, well, I think the first time my first job was at McDonald's and I was 15 years old.
My mom didn't even want me to work. I begged her to get a job at McDonald's. And I just like to work. I have always liked to work. So anyway, she had to sign a form because I was 15. And so I got hired at McDonald's. And so on my first...
It was, you know, I'd worked there for a month or two and it was time for them to do an evaluation. And they basically said, repent. Because I was really silly. I worked to drive through. I thought it was funny, you know, so, you know, just that.
do silly things. I was 15. And so, you know, I didn't get my first five cent raise and I was pretty embarrassed and ashamed, you know, but, but I did repent. I tried to do better after that, but that was one example of repentance. Yeah. It's funny because we both started off life as, as
in the fast food industry. We were laughing because, you know, I worked at an A&W and back in the day, there was the car hop where you got to wear roller skates, literally. I lived at the roller rink and I could ace this. And so I was like, that's it. I'm going to go be a car hop. I had a friend that was doing that. And so I went over there and they're like,
No car hops available. And there's a list. But we need a cook. I mean, I was 14. Okay. And so I started like flipping hamburgers. And like my very first week, this giant Little League bus shows up.
and there needs to be like a zillion hamburgers on the grill. And then some have cheese and some are doubles and some of the, and the buns were flying out of the machine and hamburgers were burnt. And the boss came back and he was holding this burnt hamburger that someone turned back in. And he said, what is this? And, you know, and he's like, don't let this happen again. And I was like,
I am done. I'm out of here. I am not cooking. Call me when you have a car hop job. And I just laughed because I thought, this isn't what I said. They never called you? No. No. No, they didn't call me back. Well, you know what happened to me? They put me on fries.
So every day I was on fries. It was so hot. That grease is so hot. And I had a little bit of a pimple problem. And so I was like on Accutane before anybody was on Accutane. And it just made that whole thing worse. So finally, when school started, it was the summer.
My mom said, I don't want you to work. And I was kind of relieved, actually, because FRIES, you know, sometimes we go through trials and tribulations because we need to repent. That was my trials and tribulations. I had to work FRIES. And I just, that wasn't as fun as the drive-thru. Well, when you finally figure out your niche or where you're going to be and what you're going to do, I had so many jobs. And so did you. I also worked at a movie theater where...
I had to make all the popcorn, but the orange lard and the orange salt stuff that made it all look bright yellow, buttery, we would just put extra, extra scoops. It was so salty. And we sold so many drinks because people were just, oh, it's so salty. And so the boss was really happy. He says, oh, you guys are killing it, selling all the giant drinks.
But I mean, honestly, I worked at a hair place. I worked at flower places. I mean, we've, but that's the thing, you know, I think you and I have always been super busy and doers and need to be keeping busy. But, you know, everything that you do in life prepares you for something, whether it's been learning how to talk to people, learning how customer relations work, learning how to, you know,
see others' faults and be okay with that and forgive others. And, you know, so many things. But it's also about, you know, repenting for maybe when you're doing the wrong thing for the wrong reasons and where you find yourself, you know, because God loves you too much to let you stay in the fries. Welcome back. You're watching Grace Grace with Nina and Michelle. We've been talking about some of our stories when we were younger and things like that. But, you know, in all seriousness, you know, we we need to know the words of Jesus. And that's how you will find the plan that he has for your life. And when we repent of when we've tried to go it alone, because that
I'm just going to ask you right now, how's that working for you? Because when you just think you're going to step outside of what God's plan is because you have a better plan, it is never going to go well. Never. It's not going to work. And so repent and turn away, turn back, turn back to, to, you know, spending time with the Lord and seeking his plan and his will for your life, because that's
the only way you're going to get anywhere that's of any basically that's going to have any merit to it or it's going to have value because you're absolutely doing what you were born to do. And there's nothing better than that purpose. Like how could there be anything better than that purpose? You know, the Bible says that
Jesus looked at them and said, so Jesus's words with man, this is impossible, but with God, all things are possible. And so don't sit there and say, I wish I could have done this. I wish I could have done that. It's too late. It's this night. No, all things are possible when you start speaking those words of God. Well, and I don't care how old you are, you know, um,
I was 15 when I worked at McDonald's and then my next job was at the mall. You know, I worked in a clothing place, which I loved. I did too. Because that was so much fun to wear the clothes and all of that fun stuff. But around that time, I asked the Lord, I said, what do you want me to do with my life?
And the Lord just gave me this flash of a vision. I mean, it was just like in my mind's eye and it was a picture of a globe and it had lights all over it. And I knew he meant broadcast the gospel. And I really didn't know what that looked like exactly. But if you stop,
everything and just say, God, what do you want me to do? After you've repented, after you've believed, you say, God, what do you want for my life? He will show you. Maybe not exactly like that, but he will. He's faithful. He doesn't want to hide what he wants for your life. I mean, sometimes we're, like it says, we walk by faith and not by sight. So
You know, we're not seeing it, but God is, He'll put a vision in your heart. And it says that my people perish for lack of a vision. And so we want to make sure that we've stopped everything. We've repented. We've believed. We've stopped everything and said, God, what is it you want me to do next?
What do you want me to do? What is your vision for my life? And I basically, my husband is my witness because I've known him that long. I'm telling you, he can vouch for everything I'm saying right now that God told me this. I told him that, what God told me. And he has watched it happen. And only God could have made it happen. It's impossible.
It is completely and totally impossible. And yet God has done it, you know, that I've been able to, you know, get the gospel out to broadcast the gospel. And so in whatever way, whether it was me saying it or promoting someone who was, it has been an honor. So, but it all starts with repent.
and believe no matter where you are in the world. Trust what you hear. And what I mean by that is even as you know, like before we ever started the show, I had a blog which made zero sense because I've talked about this before. I did not write anything. I was not a blogger. I did not even know what a blog was like, like, like I knew, but I had never read one. So I was not in the know of any of it. But,
But I knew in the spirit that the Lord told me I needed to write a blog. And so I told my son about it. He had to help me, you know, get one, you know, built like the basically your blog site. And literally he was saying, but you don't write stuff like it didn't make any sense. But that is kind of how you know that.
that is the Lord in a lot of ways, because I knew that wasn't my notion. That could have only been from, from God. It was a, it was a, it was a blog. It was basically a devotional and it was filled with, with, and it's still up. I still have it. And, you know, it's filled with, with the word of God. And, and, and, you know, that made zero sense to me at the time.
But when you know that's not your notion, that really has to be from the Lord, then if you step out in faith and stop blowing off, like, nah, that's not. And you really step out in faith and do it,
honestly, that's what led to so many things. That's what led to these open doors and how we're doing what we're doing. And it taught me so much about still writing every day, the daily devotionals on our ministry pages and things, but also just taught me the word of God by writing those things every single day. And so, you know, what,
When you start to just, that's how you know you're hearing from God. But likewise, when you're going to have notions or hearing things like it's too late, you're too old, you're never going to do it, you're not, you know, nothing good ever happens to you.
you. That is not how God speaks. And so that's the enemy speaking to you because God is never going to say that to you. God is going to say, I have a plan for you. I have more for you. There's so much ahead. You know, stay with me when you are hearing those other words, because you know, that's not from him because God says what, whatever is good, whatever is peaceful, whatever is a good report, focus on these things. God isn't going to talk to you that way. But when the notion pops up,
or even something that you've been trying to do for a long time, or an idea that you've had for a long time, stop saying it's too late. Stop saying, you know, you're too old and just start letting God order your steps. And when you ask him to do that, to order today, Lord, I ask you to order every step I take. I ask you to clear my path for me and, and,
Give me divine appointments, divine assignments. Put me exactly where I need to be, who I need to be talking to, who needs to be part of this bigger picture. You start to speak those things and declare those things and watch God move and watch God put you exactly where you need to be. It's really true how it works. And just listen. And don't just...

Yeah, and I love the Scripture, and it's been rolling around in my spirit lately about that God's Word is not just a word. It's also power. And so you know that, that God's Word has power. And when you're speaking His Word after you've repented and repented
And you have believed. Once you start declaring and decreeing God's Word, it's a sword. The Bible calls it the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God. That's what it says. When you begin to wield your sword...
that's when things start to happen. Call it out. It might seem crazy. Who cares? I mean, who are we trying to impress anyway? Exactly. I'm serious. Who cares? Just know that God has a plan for you. It is a good plan, plans for good and not for evil, plans to prosper you. And He wants to tell you what it is. And we'll talk more about that when we come back.

And we're talking about just how if we repent and just stay focused on the words of Jesus and just turn away from whatever might be causing you to be, you know, just kind of away from the Lord right now. You know, maybe you maybe once knew him and
And you've kind of just been led astray or you're, you're really, you have fallen, you know, you've kind of fallen away. Well, that's, that, that's not God's plan for you. God wants you back. It is not his will for any man to perish. And so we actually,
are going to ask you today to repent and turn back. Metanoia, that means turn. Repent, but turn away. Don't just apologize. Don't just repent of your sins, but really turn away from those things. There's a difference between
repenting of your sins and confessing your sins. You know, the Bible says to confess our sins to one another, to confess what you've done. And in that, that way he can forgive you. But we have to take it that step further. When you repent, you are confessing, but with a
a heart to turn away from that and, and to never do it again. Now God knows our hearts. So he knows if we're going to like sin, repent and repent. He knows that about you. But if he, he knows your heart, if you truly have, you've tried and he, he's got mercy for us when we try and fail and we, but our hearts that want to do better because he knows your heart on all of that. And so, so
don't think that you're pulling one over on God. He will not be mocked. And so when you really go with a humble and contrite heart and ask Him,
to help you. Help me with this. I want to remove this from my life. I repent of this, but I really need your help. Help me, Father. Lord, have mercy on me and help me get through this. And he will. And he will because Jesus wants it all. Jesus paid it all. He paid for all of your sins. Debt is paid. Everything is canceled out. And when you truly repent,
It's wiped out. Your slate is clean. Everything about it is forgiven and forgotten. And he says he throws it into a sea of forgetfulness, never to be remembered again. But
But those are the things you need to know by studying and reading his word. The devil doesn't forget. And so the devil wants to completely keep... He's the accuser of the brethren. He wants to keep... So remember you did this, remember that, and torment you. And when you need to... When that happens, you need to remember...
Wait a minute. I already repented. I turned away from this and Jesus has forgiven me from this and he doesn't remember this. So I know that this is not him. And then you can rebuke that. You can take your authority and rebuke those lies of the devil because God doesn't want you to live in that condemnation. The devil wants to sidetrack us. Yes, he does. He wants to completely sidetrack us and make us think, well, it's all over now. You did something wrong and it's over, you know.
let me just say, not only did I not get my five cent raise at McDonald's, but I also quit ministry at some point because I just got hurt. And I thought, I don't need this. I'll just do something else. I'll have my own company and I won't be in ministry. And then I won't get hurt because, you know, Christians are just people. You know, I just thought that if I was in ministry and
Even though God gave me this big vision about what He wanted to do in my life, I just thought, you know what? I don't need to be hurt by people that I thought were Christians. I'll work with the worldlings and at least...
I know that they might hurt me and I'm okay because they don't even know the Lord. But the ones that do know the Lord, I didn't expect them to hurt me. And so I stepped away, not from the Lord. I didn't step away from the Lord, but I just thought, I think I'm going to,
I'm going to take a break from a vision. And it was still there and I still believed, but I didn't know how I was going to ever like creep back into ministry because it was just like, I didn't want to get hurt like that again. And so, um,
One day I heard a sermon that said the gifts and callings of God are without repentance. God never takes them back. Once God gives you that vision, God is on it. He doesn't take it back. If you messed up, if you quit, if you didn't get your five cent raise, if you got turned into, had to go to do fries, if whatever, even if you're too old, pulled off the job too old.
to whatever, right? The gifts and callings of God are without repentance. And so I got down on my knees. I repented of stepping back. Even, you know, I mean, I just was hurt. And I said, God, I'm sorry that I got hurt in ministry. And, and I blamed, I guess I blamed you. I didn't realize, you know, and I'm so sorry. Will you please forgive me?
And I'm not kidding. I don't think I was up from that prayer. And the place that I left after it was like two years had passed, called me and asked me if I would come back.
in that same spot. God takes you back to your last place of disobedience. And there I was back at that place. And then a year later, God called me to work at CBN. And that's whenever the gospel went all over the world. And that's when it happened. But we have not gone too far.
that God can't find you right where you were. I was in my bedroom on my knees all by myself. Nobody even knew I was in there. And I got that phone call and God just reactivated everything and it was on again. And don't you just think he's like, finally,
You're back. I've been waiting on this. Like, do you ever just think about God sometimes? Like, He's just got so much, the patience with all of us. Can you even imagine? Because, you know, He just does. God doesn't always answer my prayers just like that. Promise. I promise you. That does not always happen. But He's waiting on us so much. Truly, He is. He was like, it's getting late. Girl. Oh.
Okay. Can you believe? Okay, finally. You know, it's like, you know, I got to send some more lightning bolts down and time to get the angels going. So, you know, but anyway, we laugh, but it's so true. If you follow God, if you repent and you just get out your Bible and get everything, get a red letter Bible because the red letters are what Jesus says.
And that's how you're going to know I can do the same things because the Bible says that, that you can be like Jesus as he is in the world. So are you. So read the red letters and just know that he's got you.
Let's pray for you. Lord, we thank you. We repent of anything in our lives, Lord, that has displeased you. Lord, we believe that you can forgive us. And Lord, we activate the vision that you have for our lives, Lord. In Jesus' mighty and precious name we pray. Amen.
