Does your life feel like a computer browser with 173 tabs open?   Has the modern world contributed to a disconnect between yourself and your humanity?   Guess what girlfriend - you're NOT a machine and the need for rest, creativity, friends, quiet... it's NOT your imagination.  You ACTUALLY need those things!

A very interesting look at how her community and traditions shaped the world of our favorite heroine.

Essentialism:

Focused on entrepreneurs, but with useful ideas for the homemaker, this book offers excellent thoughts on boiling down what you need to be putting your hand to.   When to say "yes" and when to say - "that's NOT essential".

Today’s Quick Tip for Your Home: Do one load of laundry A DAY. START TO FINISH. It can be hard to get in this habit, but it certainly beats washing seven on Saturday when you’d rather be out doing something awesome. Gives you time to pay attention, clean pockets, see the garments, iron and appreciate them. Keep a sheet in the laundry room to write down what you need (ie: girls need new socks, husband needs white shirts, etc.)

CUE THE WINE MUSIC!    Today’s “What We’re Sipping” segment is brought to you by Dry Farm Wines. Today Angela was sipping a Chateau Castellas, Les Escots 2018, a Malbec made by the Roucanieres family.   They’ve been making wine here for 200 years. This is one of the dark reds so far from Dry Farms.. dark fruit flavors and rich with tannins.   For our friends that like a big, French red, You're going to LOVE this one!

We’re Not Machines
Today we’re talking about the ebbs and flows of life. The seasons of our lives and how those changes. We’re not machines! And thus, it stands to reason that our needs change, our desires change, our motivation changes, our dreams change.
As women our bodies are already designed for cycles, why would we imagine that our lives, moods, abilities, passions, wouldn't reflect this as well?

We’re not machines. Therefore;

  • We should expect a cyclical nature to life, work, friendships, etc.
  • We should expect to get tired and need rest.
  • We should expect to need help.
  • We should expect emotions.
  • When you feel all these things, there’s nothing wrong with you!
