Now, I've got a spokesperson here from Sydney Trains on the line for us. Hello. Hey, it's Jazz. Hello, Jazz. How are you? Yeah, good, thank you. Okay, tell us what's happening.

For the moment, for Sydney Trains, we're running all of our services as per normal, so no issues for Sydney Trains customers. We do have some issues on our intercity services where our train radio network is unable to be logged in. So between Newcastle, Dongog and Scone, we'll be running buses, and also between Kinshasa,

MacArthur and Campbelltown will be running buses as well. So that's the key impact to us. But other than that, all of the city trains, metropolitan services are running on time. So you can't use the radios on, what is it, the New South Wales trains network? Yeah, that's right. It's the intercity network. So it's the extremities where these trains typically change their communication network to a different radio system.

right and you can't log into it to get it going that's right yeah there's some issues logging into those when they turn around at different locations uh at the end of their runs and for the crew to log back in again and to operate we need a fully functional radio system and if that's not available we have to cancel the services unfortunately but we do have the good news we'll get some buses operating in those areas but other than that sydney trains

all the trains are still operating on time. So the radio, I'm just interested in this and just indulge me here for a second, but the radio network that you use on those lines, when you use the intercity line, they're not like the old sort of VHF ones you're talking, it's a digital one, is it, via the internet? Yes.

Yes, well, it is digital. I mean, the exact technology and the details I'm not across, but it is a different communications network, if that makes sense. And we typically transition over from our digital train radio system within the metropolitan area to a system called the ICE radio system. And when the trains move into that line and then they go to the end of their locations, they'll have to normally sign out and sign in for new crew taking over.

You're a good man, Jazz. I really appreciate you coming on. Thank you for that. No worries. Thanks, mate. So just be it. That's Jazz Tumba. He's from Sydney Trains. Again, we can't take calls, but we can make them to put them to air.
