Quarter past three and the Sydney Metro, it was five out of five, Michael McLaren gave it for a seamless performance in the morning peak. Let's see how it's going in the afternoon peak. It's probably a little bit early for it, but it's worth checking in. John Stanley, host of Nights here on 2GB. He's on one of the Metro trains. G'day, John.

Yeah, g'day. In fact, I got on this one, we actually got on the Barangaroo, but then we went under the harbour. We ended up getting on this one at Victoria Cross, Corner McLaren and Miller Streets, North Sydney. And I thought, well, I'll be right.

you know, when I speak to you, we're going to be a jerrybook pretty soon. I mean, we've taken the, this is the extension of the Northwest that people are very familiar with, but the new stations are fantastic. Everything's working seamlessly. I will say it's pretty quiet right now because I do think you've got to remember people have

haven't used this up till today, most of the people around this time of the day on this part of the line, they're probably regulars that have been using it. But I reckon through the city, under the harbour, a lot of people are giving it a try for the first time. And so far, I'm staggered by how quickly it moves. And I'm like you, I think, why couldn't we have had this in our city a long time ago? So you're impressed, John?

Very impressed, yeah. The speed at which it moves, it's very quiet. It takes you under the harbour. The new stations, the entrance to the station there at Gaddagal, which is in Park Street, just up from Pitt Street. Then you go through Martin Place. It moves very quickly under the harbour. So the trip to North Sydney is remarkably quick. You find it in the chats within minutes.

in no time. So I think it is going to transform the way people move around our city. I'm very, very impressed. A lot of the transport officials around here, Chris, they're getting a lot of orders. They're probably right now about as popular as Shane Flanagan is in southern Sydney. Get on you, John. Go the mighty dragon. John Stanley there, the host of nights here on 2GB. And so far, so good.
